We just returned from our weekend trip to….Niagara Falls!! This photo was taken from our hotel room, WHAT A VIEW! I can’t even tell you how mesmerizing it was to look out our hotel window and see something so beautiful! We opened the window and slept to the sound of the thundering water and we all had one of the best night’s sleep ever!:) Miraculous, magnificent, inspiring, powerful…so many words to describe such an amazing place.
Last week I ran into a listener that was talking about going there. She mentioned it was only 4 hours away and I was shocked! I had no idea it was so close. I told Jim about it and we both knew what the other was thinking before we even said anything…”let’s go”!! We are still enjoying the fact that he finally has weekend’s off, and for the first time in our marriage, we share 2 work- free days together as a family! So we packed up the kids and left the country for a few days.:) Anyway, we couldn’t do a lot with the baby in tow, but that was fine with us. We played in the park, walked along the water, and ate way too much dessert but it was magical! We were able to teach the boys about one of the 7 Wonders of the World, and they were able to see God’s Hand at work on such a grand scale. Anyway, it was a short trip but we can’t wait to go back! I will post a few more photos of the trip, and if you are looking for a place to relax and get away, I would recommend Niagara Falls any day!:)

Wonderful view. What hotel did you stay at? I would love to go there sometime.
Hi Brooke,
We found a couple of great places to eat around there, one was called The Secret Garden (Very inexpensive, but very good!) It is a great place for lunch. Also, Wolfegang Puck’s restaurant is wonderful… even for kids!
It’s great you had a good time. My concern is unfortunatly you lied to your children, and gave them an incorrect history lesson. Niagra Falls is NOT one of the “7 wonders of the world”..not even close…The real ones are;
The Great Pyramid of Giza, Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, Statue of Zeus at Olympia,Mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus, Colossus of Rhodes, and the Lighthouse of Alexandria.
Niagra Falls isn’t even a “tourist wonder of the world” They are…
Great Pyramid of Giza
Great Wall of China
Taj Mahal
Serengeti Migration
Galapagos
Grand Canyon
Machu Picchu
And most important you gave God credit for creating the falls, which in fact is totally false.. The Falls were formed after the ever so large Wisconsin glaciation, which ended some 10,000 years ago. The Great Lakes and the Niagra River, and of course the the waterfall are all effects of this last continental ice sheet, an enormous glacier that crept across the area from eastern Canada.
Not to be mean, but brush up on your history before educating children, (i’m sure you don’t want them giving retarded answers in geography class once they start school) and lastly don’t credit “your” god for natural enviromental erosion. You really need to thank the sun for global warming and melting of the glaciers that created the falls.
Good Day….
Have a great day.
