It’s official, we are going to Walt Disney World! We are planning the big vacation for about a year from now. I know it seems pretty early to get excited, but a trip like this will take lots of planning! We’ve already starting saving up and we should have a nice little nest egg by the time the big day arrives. We went to Disney a few years ago on a VERY limited budget but we learned a lot. 1. We realized we should stay in a Disney hotel (on the theme park grounds). That way we are close if we need to go back for naps, etc. With little kids it cuts out hassle and leaves more time to enjoy the park when we aren’t stuck in traffic coming and going. 2. We are going to stop at a local grocery store and pack sandwiches, and snacks to save money. Food is so expensive there (not surprisingly) but it’s a beautiful place to have a picnic, so why not pack one, save money, and enjoy the scenery?!
Anyway we are all really thrilled about it, and I’m sure we’ll be looking at this picture a lot over the cold winter months! It’s the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and that’s the hotel we’ll be staying at, it’s so breathtaking! We don’t live lavishly like this (that explains why it will take so long to save up) so it will be a fun experience to stay there. We ordered the Disney free vacation planning kit and watched the DVD last night. The boys are ecstatic and Grant is old enough to enjoy it now (Garrett will get jipped a little, but he’ll be riding in style hanging out in the stroller)! We probably won’t talk about it much more for a while. Next year will seem so far off, you know 10 months to a kid can feel like 10 years!
