Happy Memorial Day! Although “happy” doesn’t seem like the right word to use, considering it’s such a somber day. Gabriel and Jim marched in our local parade today for Scouts. It was so neat to see my guys involved!:) Our community has a really good program after the parade to commemorate the day. I can’t help but get a lump in my throat seeing all the vets (mostly WWII) dressed up and at full attention. It’s such a feeling of patriotism and gratitude!
Today basically topped off what was just a perfect weekend. I think 3 days off should be the new norm, it’s amazing what an extra day can do!:) Sunday we did one of my favorite summer activities, we rented a boat! After church we packed the lunches, put our life jackets and swimsuits on, and headed up to Portage Lakes. We took the family and enjoyed a day on the water and it was beautiful! Still too cold to swim yet, but it was nice to get some sun and just enjoy the scenery. Here is a pic of us hanging on the Pontoon!
Now that we are almost in June and I am loving every minute of it! Summer is my favorite. I can’t wait to spend lazy days by the pool, going for ice cream and having little camp fires. I hope you had an equally wonderful weekend and a blessed Memorial Day!
