A few weeks ago we transitioned Garrett from his crib, to a daybed. It just involved removing a few pieces (he has a convertible crib) but it’s been interesting. Most of the time he does well, he lies down and falls asleep like a big boy. However, the fact that he can just climb out and play in his room has been too much of a temptation other days. He is so stealthy about it too, half the time I have no idea he’s awake! I’ll go check on him and find he emptied his hamper and ripped pages out of his books or something he knows he shouldn’t be doing. So it went yesterday. I peeked in his room to find he had quietly opened his closet door, rummaged through a clothes bin (it was full of too-small clothing to go in storage) and scattered ALL the contents on his floor! Ugh. I was so frustrated! I opened the door and raised my voice to discipline him, then he turned around and I saw what his shirt said! It was one of those moments I had to keep my poker face on, but I was laughing inside! He pulled out an old shirt with a special message on it. I had to take a picture, I couldn’t resist! He may be able to melt my heart, but he still had to help pick up those clothes.:) Here he is (notice the “what did I do mom”? look)!
I’m hoping to post a few more Molly photos soon. She is doing great! She is officially ours now. Each day it seems like she’s more comfortable with us and her personality is just adorable. She loves getting attention from the boys and she’s so easygoing. She sleeps on her bed at night, doesn’t chew anything or get into trouble…and she hasn’t had one accident yet! We are really happy, she’s wonderful.
Before I forget, I wanted to post this neat video I found. The boys and I watched it last week. As parents, Jim and I are always trying to teach the boys about the power of determination the the attitude of “don’t quit”….never give up! So this was inspiring to see someone their age, living that motto. I hope you find it uplifting too! Click here.
