Happy birthday to Gabriel, our first born boy is 9. From here on out it will be double digits. I am savoring this time. My dad picked up Gabe after school today and took him golfing (a special Gabe/grandpa gift) and I snapped a quick pic with Gabe, Grant and Garrett in celebratory-brother mode.
We gave him the new “Ripley’s Believe it Or Not” book, a can of pistachio’s and I baked his favorite cake (marble). He was a happy guy. This weekend we have some more activities planned and he is counting the days. Happy birthday Gabe!
This is also a big week for Gabe because he is starting BAND! He has been begging to play the drums since he was in kindergarten which is not an exaggeration. We resisted, mainly because he was already involved in other things, and private lessons are expensive (Grant takes piano, but that’s his only thing right now). Anyway, we knew he could pick it up when he was old enough to join band, if he was still interested. The time has finally arrived, and it’s been neat to see his anticipation as he fulfills something he’s so waited so long for. We opted to order a snare drum set as opposed to renting, just because it saves more money in the long run. We were SO excited to find Musician’s Friend on the web. Their customer service and pricing are exceptional! Very impressed and a place I know we will be ordering from again. Here is what Gabe will be lugging to school tomorrow. A Pearl snare drum, sticks, drum pad and rolling case. If our house is a rockin’….don’t bother knockin, it’s just Gabe and his new drums (my apologizes to the nice new neighbors who moved next door)!:) Lol.
