I am grateful beyond measure to introduce you to our angel, Karolina (pronounced Karo-leen-a). Jim and I just returned from our first trip to Poland. Although we were not able to bring her home yet, we were grateful to be able to spend several days with her. We bonded, cuddled, giggled, went for walks, and I even got to give her a bath! The orphanage where she is living is small and loving. We were very impressed by the tenderness of the nurses, and obvious affection they felt toward the children. Our lives have been forever changed by this experience. There are children who need to be adopted all over the world, from Akron to Amsterdam, Green Bay to Guatemala. Cleveland to Haiti. What I have learned though, is that just as the Lord knits together a child in the womb, he knits together families in only a way He can, through providence and divine guidance. I still can’t believe we are adopting from Poland, but that alone is a testament to God’s amazing ways, HE led us right to Karolina!:) I have so many thoughts and emotions, but right now I will keep it short and just post a slide show. We hope/pray to go back in a few months to bring her home for good. Thank you for your prayers and support! It means more than you know.

Saying our temporary goodbye was the hardest part. Leaving her was one of the most difficult things I have ever done. Thankfully, I know she is in excellent hands, and we just pray for a speedy return. Happy Easter Karolina, we love you!

Brooke I am so excited for you and your family! The first thing I thought of when you said her name was Pope John Paul II. Did you know his given name was Karol Woytila? Karolina is a "little Karol" and the feminine version of Pope John Paul II's name. Did you get to name her or was that her name? What a wonderful name. Many blessings to you! Karen
