Happy 22 weeks!:) Today I am officially 5 1/2 months pregnant. Time is flying. Although, when I think about it, the end of October seems ages away. I’m just trying to enjoy TODAY, and I’m learning to appreciate the present. It seems like I am forever on some sort of countdown clock and I’m trying to just unplug and not look at the time! It started with the adoption, and then counting down until we received our referral, and then the days until we would meet our little girl, and then counting down to our “long” trip and finalizing the adoption. I admit I am still counting the days until Karolina and Jim are HOME, but I’m also trying to savor these days with the boys. I am no longer a mom of all boys and our family has grown, and I know by now these precious days need to be appreciated! As well as every new chapter along the way. 🙂
Sometimes I forget I am pregnant and still can’t believe it. I always had faith, and hope, but a part of me gave up thinking it was possible to have any more biological children. So there are moments of awe that hit me, when I feel a hiccup or a kick, and I catch my breath thinking about the miracle of this child! One of my favorite things to look at weekly, is the Pampers “Hello Baby” app. I highly recommend it! The images are extraordinary. Here is picture of what the image looks like this week (my baby at 22 weeks):
Not the best photo ( although Grant did a great job) but a better description can be found here. You can also watch a video of how the app works here.
Today I also downloaded the silly “Kick to Pick” baby naming app. I wouldn’t put much stock in it, but we sure had a fun time testing it out! The way it works is this: the app allows an expectant mom to place her iPhone (or iPod Touch or iPad) on her belly, and scroll through a list of possible names until the baby “picks” one by kicking. The funny part was, the baby really DID kick when I placed the iPad on my belly. It registered and picked the name “Raoul.” Then we tried it for a girl’s name, the baby evidently “chose” the name “Tenisha.” Um, well…I can’t say those names were on our “short list” so that was a surprise. Lol. Overall, I think it’s a cute little tool (albeit more hokey instead of helpful), but fun . 🙂
We do always seem to be on a countdown clock in life. The danger is missing the joys and blessings of today.
