Just wanted to check in with a big full-term howdy do.:) I am 37 weeks today, officially full-term! 21 days from now our little guy is due. The doctor says everything looks good, his h/b is strong and his size is right on track. I asked doc. how often women are overdue, and he said it happens frequently, but in his practice he only allows moms to go 2-3 days past their due date. I hope I’m not induced, but it’s good to know that no matter what, we WILL have a baby within 3 1/2 weeks. WOW! In the meantime, we’ve been tying up some loose ends. Over the weekend Jim got the car seat ready (not installed, since we need every seat we can get up until the last minute) but at least it’s up and set to go. He also put together our new swing, which made me tear up when I saw it. It’s so soft and sweet and I still can’t believe there will be a tiny baby occupying the seat soon. It’s def. a new-fangled item compared to the other things we had for the boys. It rocks front to back and side-to-side, and even plays music from an MP3 player. Neat!
If you look closely, you’ll also see a giraffe WubbaNub on the seat. This was also new to me, and I had ordered it so long ago I forgot it was a giraffe, so it was fun to see we had a little theme going on between the swing and binky. A WubbaNub is a pacifier attached to a stuffed animal. It was all the rage on a BBC board I ran across, so I figured I would try it. When I went to Babies R Us to have a look, they were sold out, and the manager said she couldn’t keep them in stock. Who knew?! Here’s the scoop on the WubbaNub.
In addition to the gear, the nursery is ready to go. It’s set for 2 babies now! Here is the side drawer of the changing table. The polka dot bins are for Karolinky’s items. Blue for baby boy’s items. The heart-shaped box has all of her hair things in it. Still love the sight of PINK in the house!

With all the baby preparations and busy weekends lately, I decided to take Monday off to spend with the boys and Karolina and make it a special day. We had warm pumpkin bread for breakfast, stayed in our pajamas until noon, and watched the movie “The Perfect Game,” twice! It’s one of the best family films we’ve seen in a while. We stumbled upon it, and I am so glad we did! A new addition to our “best of” collection for sure. Here’s the trailer:

I understand that you are wanting a natural birth. I am about 34 weeks pregnant and share that desire as well. My doctor is only willing to let me go a week past my due date though I am not happy about that either. You may want to check out the movie "Pregnant in America". In my opinion it is a very good movie and very informative. I hope it all goes well.
