My due date has arrived. So… where is our little prince? He’s quite content right where he is, thank you very much! My doctor said there has been absolutely no progress from last week and he seems quite comfy right where he is. Helloooo in there, we are waiting to meet you……
The good news is, he IS coming (I was beginning to wonder)…although it may take some gentle nudging.:) I am scheduled for an induction on Friday. After doing tons of research about natural childbirth, I realized this is not as cut and dry and easy as it may sound. Pitocin, or anything being artificially pumped into the body, carries risks and possible complications. I did have pit. with Gabriel and it worked out fine, but I’m still hoping he comes on his own before Friday.
Which may happen, especially after implementing a tip I just heard today. I was delighted when my friend Jennifer shared a secret weapon she tried. It seems there is a restaurant in Atlanta, famous for their labor-inducing Eggplant Parmesan recipe. You can read about their legendary status here. Jennifer was 5 days overdue with her daughter Lily and they tested the theory. Here is a video, documenting the experiment:
And? It WORKED! Mamma Mia! She went into labor 43 hours later. The recipe is actually posted on the website, and I am headed to the store to gather the ingredients shortly. In terms of “natural” labor inducers, this is one of the tastiest tips yet, so what do I have to lose? Either way, our little boy will be here by the weekend and we can’t wait to meet him!

Brooke~as I read this post I think of my youngest son's "birthday". His due date was also October 25 and he was born on October 28. He is a true blessing and I know your little guy will also be a blessing. Best of luck to your family and many joyous days ahead.
