What a beautiful weekend! It was such a treat to have temps in the mid 80’s here in Northeast Ohio. Friday was our much anticipated Mary Walk and May Crowning at church. The year we honored Our Lady of Czestochowa and our family was chosen to crown Our Lady. For the back story about the significance of the Polish Madonna and our family, please see our adoption blog. Last year at this time we were preparing for our trip to Poland to pick up Karolina! Needless to say, it was an emotional evening as we celebrated the Lord’s hand in our lives, where we were last year, and where we are today! Karolina looked extra beautiful in her Polish dress and blonde hair. Look at that smile!
In some ways it was a mini vacation because Jim and the older boys were camping with Scouts all weekend. Rock climbing, zip-lining and boy stuff.
It was still a juggling act with the babies and trying to tackle various projects, but overall I felt productive. One huge task I accomplished as transferring the winter to summer clothes for Karolina, Grant and Garrett. I still have four more people to sort through and organize, but it’s a nice feeling to see tidy drawers and closets…for the time being. 🙂 Speaking of organizing, for anyone (like me) who is dinner-recipe-challenged, I found a wonderful FREE website with great ideas! Not only that, but you can invite your spouse and kids to select menu items and stock them up in your “Recipe Box.” It helps make a grocery list and even has an app (I downloaded that too). It’s similar to Pinterest but designed specifically for meal organizing. I already found a few new casseroles, and…ahem…this S’mores dessert.
I made it today in fact. I also made the mistake choice of pairing it with Ben & Jerry’s red velvet cake ice cream. Oh my! Perhaps my new all-time favorite. Uh oh. The website is Ziplist.com. Click here for the easy S’mores brownies recipe and prepare to delighted!
