Each visit to our local library never fails to bring with it new and exciting discoveries. As we embark on our Summer Reading Adventure, my goal is to make a weekly video of some of our treasured favorites. I know our experience certainly isn’t unique, based on the bulging bags of books I see other families carrying out! If you have a standout selection (s) you would recommend, I would love to hear about it. Please leave a comment or e-mail me at [email protected]. Here are our picks for this week:

Hi Brooke, I just received this link from the publisher of Silent Star as my husband is the illustrator of the book. I manage him so I try to go through all of the reviews and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this. To see yours and your family's excitement over picture books is very rewarding and inspirational. In this video alone, you brought several books to my attention that I didn't know were out there that my children will love. Thank you so much for posting this and I will try to keep up with your posts throughout our crazy summer.

Dear Denise,
How wonderful! I am honored you would take the time to view the video and share your feedback. The book is so beautifully illustrated and brings to life the emotion and heart of the story, your husband did tremendous work! Thank him (and you), for such a positive contribution to children's literature.
