Happy August! I know I’m becoming a broken record but it never ceases to amaze me how fast time flies! The countdown to back-to-school has begun, and we’ve shifted from watching the sales fliers for pool floaties and sunscreen, to school supplies and shoes. I know I’ve been less than reliable when it comes to updating my website (and for my dear, lovely loyal blog-checkers, I apologize) but I’m afraid I grossly misjudged my free time with five kids. Ha.
To catch up, here are some snapshot-highlights:
Going back to June 30th for this one. Karolina’s 2nd birthday! This was our FIRST celebration with her, as last year she and Jim were in Poland. Her birthday came the day after my dad passed away, but it honestly it made it all the more heart-touching and gave us a greater appreciation for the blessing of a BIRTH day! Isn’t she beautiful?! She gets prettier every day.

Our big girl! We had a Mini Mouse theme and gave her a doll and some pink hair accessories.
Have I told you how much I love having a girl?! 🙂 Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter!
Overall, I am disappointed by how little I’ve accomplished this summer. Granted, we had 2 major life events (my dad, and Grant’s stroke) but I had hoped to take more trips to the zoo or park, and possibly attempt the local pool. We did manage a super fun time last weekend at Cedar Point though. I wanted to spend some special time with the older boys, so we took off to Cedar Point. My brother Matt joined us, and Gabriel, Grant and I planned a day of roller coaster madness. Until…Grant decided he is NOT a fan of coasters. Check out his expression on the Magnum:
He was terrified. Poor guy! I have to hand it to him, he really tried, but.. clearly it’s just not his thing. Thankfully, Cedar Point has a ton of other things to do, so while Uncle Matt and Gabriel were conquering the coasters, Grant and I had fun on other things. We had a sweet ride on the Ferris Wheel:
We also enjoyed some great stick-food. 🙂
Now THAT’S what summer memories are made of. 🙂 I hope your summer has been happy and memorable thus far! I’ll be back soon (hopefully), with a back-to-school post and some goodies to report. Happy August!
