What a week! Our schedule is action packed for some reason this week. Wed. is the last day of school for the boys, and they are chomping at the bit to wrap r’ up. In our area, break started on a staggered schedule for different schools and the boys are convinced theirs is the last school in the universe to let out for the summer. Ha. We also have a wedding at the end of the week. Our babysitter is all grown up and marrying a dreamy, Godly guy and we can’t wait to see them become man and wife! This will be the first wedding we’ve attended in several years, and Garrett is the ring bearer. Just the thought of the boys all decked out and looking dapper in suit coats makes my mama-heart all aflutter. The boys are growing up so fast. Too fast.
So, to backtrack, the week kicked off with a fun, unusual experience. While my after work routine usually consists of returning home and putting my hair in a ponytail, throwing on elastic-waist pants and juggling babies, Monday was like a lovely scene out of Steel Magnolias! My mom and I had the crazy cool opportunity to visit Jeffrey Paul Salon and get a makeover. We were like giggly schoolgirls the entire time. Jeffrey Paul is the founder of Wigs for Kids and a gifted world-renowned stylist but most importantly, a man of great integrity with a huge heart. To get a true understanding of Wigs for Kids, and some of the services that Jeffrey and Co. specialize in (like helping women with thinning hair) we were able to have the Jeffrey Paul experience first-hand. For the first time in my life, I got extensions (what?!) It sounds crazy, and I still can’t believe they are on my head! Ha ha. I have NO experience with extensions at all, and was actually apprehensive about it because I felt it would take me too long to style my hair (not practical with 5 kiddos) but now I’m so glad I gave them a shot. In a nutshell, here are the before and after pics.

Thank YOU JEFFREY! Look at mom, isn’t she lovely?! A sincerely special thanks to Jocelyn, Deanna, and everyone who made the day so special. It will be a magical memory for years to come! For more pics and photos of the extensions process, click here. Oh! Also check out Jeffrey Paul’s Wigs for Kids spotlight on Kelly and Michael! GO JP! Usually when I get my hair done I just go home and change back into my trusty sweat pants, but THIS day was different…it was our 13th Wedding Anniversary! Jim and I met for dinner and uninterrupted conversation….it was so weird. Lol. And wonderful. Happy Anniversary to my Love.
Hard to believe that two years ago we celebrated our anniversary at an apartment in Cestochowa, Poland, just a few days after picking up Karolina from the orphanage! Oh, how the years do go by.
Finally, as I wrap up a VERY long day, I want to thank everyone who participated in our Food for the Poor campaign on 955 The Fish in Cleveland today. Not only did we meet our goal, but it was surpassed, thanks to the generosity, prayers, and love of those who were called to give. Blessed be God! Thank you!!
Have a GREAT day and please check back soon, I plan to update again this week! That will be a first in a LONG time. 🙂 Enjoy the sun!
