Woah…I blinked! How did this guy is now TWELVE already? Happy Birthday Gabriel! His gifts included a few shirts and outdoor stuff from the Bear Grylls store, as well as Duck Dynasty goodies from Grammie and Poppa. It’s safe to say, he is really for any wilderness adventure at this point! Ha.
In another stop down Memory Lane, I happened across this slide show from our first visit to Poland to meet Karolina. We sent this out to a small group of friends and family at the time, but I don’t think I ever posted it. It doesn’t matter how many times I see these photos, the emotions are the same. I am so grateful and overwhelmed that God called us to set out on the journey of adoption. I can’t imagine my life without our Polish Princess!

Here she is now! She is doing SO WELL in school…just look at that smile, her rosy cheeks, and that eye contact! This was even after a full day of learning and playing, and she was as happy as ever. That’s a really big deal. Thanks to every single one of you who have kept her and our family in prayer.
Feeling much gratitude for the gift of family. My schedule has been really busy with various things lately…a little too busy at the moment. I’m constantly trying to figure out how to balance time and priorities and not get distracted! I have to say though, now that the dust has settled, I am grateful and glad the kids are in school. I felt so awful when we made the last-minute decision not to homeschool, but perhaps there was wisdom in that after all. When I wake up in the morning, I make a conscious effort to give my day to God, and ask him to plan my schedule. I often have to reset myself and repeat that prayer through the day (ha) but I find it does help me from not feeling too overwhelmed when I usually would. I know this is a busy time for many others as well, so on that note, here is a prayer I ran across today for all families.:
“God of goodness and mercy, to your fatherly protection we recommend our family, our household, and all that belongs to us.
Fill our home with your blessings as you filled the holy house of Nazareth with your presence.
Keep us from sin.
Help each one of us to obey your holy laws, to love you sincerely, and to imitate your example, the example of Mary, your mother and ours and the example of your holy guardian, St. Joseph.
Lord, preserve us and our home from all evils and misfortunes. May we ever be resigned to your divine will even in the crosses and sorrows which you allow to come to us.
Finally, give us all the grace to live in harmony and love toward our neighbor. Thank you Lord, for the gift of one another.” -Amen.
Have a GREAT week!
